Why attend graduate school at WVU?

The Chemistry Department at WVU includes research in the areas of Analytical, Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. Research is a key focus of the 17 faculty members that comprise the department. From July 2004 to June 30, 2005, combined research awards to the department totaled 2.25 million dollars, from funding agencies including NIH, NSF, EPA, DoE, ONR and ACS-PRF. This level of research funding affords graduate students the opportunity to receive “on-the-job training” on cutting edge research projects. The moderate size of the department creates an atmosphere of close interaction between the faculty and graduate students.
