Giving Back to the Department of Chemistry
Every gift to the WVU C. Eugene Bennett Department of Chemistry is important. By building a strong network of alumni, friends and parents who are annual contributors, the Department is able to provide scholarships, services, programs and enhanced facilities for our students. Collectively, hundreds of individual gifts allow the WVU C. Eugene Bennett Department of Chemistry to carry on the tradition of excellence at West Virginia University.
What Are Our Priorities?
Scholarship donations remain a top priority. The department has many academically gifted and talented undergraduate students who are participating in ongoing research with a member of the Chemistry faculty. Endowed Undergraduate Research Scholarships would be used to recruit and retain students pursuing degrees in the natural science discipline of Chemistry.
We are committed to Outreach Opportunities that help elementary and middle school students get excited about the world of chemistry. Why not help the department create a bit of amazement for West Virginia school children and maybe along the way we will encourage a few gifted students to pursue careers in chemistry.
The cornerstone of our department has always been founded on research and education. We would like to add another pillar of strength with the establishment of a Research Professorship which would allow for the recruitment and retention of a nationally distinguished faculty member for a specialty area that will strengthen the department.
